  Deception and disappointment

  We arrived on a Saturday to a large group of high-school students who were on their last day at the resort . Then for 2 days it was very peaceful and things were not so bad. The Monday rolled around and guess what... a whole new group of students arrived. Not only were they loud and rude, they overtook the sports bar, the outdoor seating, the pool and at times the buffet. We felt almost forced to retreat to our room right after meals or try and find a quiet spot on the beach. Even having upgraded to club members and having a designated area on the beach didn't help... on the contrary, they held beach activities for the teens right behind the members designated area. Sorry for the negativity, but after little sleep for the past 7 nights due to extremely loud thumping music, and intoxicated teenagers who were barely dressed running around yelling outside our door we are extremely exhausted and feel completely let down by this resort. Now before booking this trip nowhere was it mentioned or advertised that we would be sharing the resort with a gang of rowdy, intoxicated teenagers. Had we been aware, we definitely would have booked at a different resort as we were looking forward to tranquility and relaxation. Even staff members were frustrated with the whole situation. Shame on this resort for not being transparent and better organizing this situation. Oh and complaining got you know where, you basically got brushed off or told yeah we know. Food is decent, staff for the most part stayed friendly even after being exhausted from dealing with the teenagers. Entertainment team did their best to try and make things enjoyable but again... it was difficult while there were activities for the teens almost running at the same time.

  not all inclusive by any means

  What an all inclusive means to everyone does not mean the same to the resort. I was trying to make reservations at one of the 4 resteraurnts on site as I was told they fill up fast but when i was trying to do so the conceirge desk told me I did not qualify to make a reservation at more than on dining spot as I did not book a 7 day stay. I also had asked and paid for an upgrade for my partners birthday which was a bottle of wine and fruit tray that was not in the room when we arrived, I then learned later that they had move me from my original room with an ocean view to a room at the farthest from the main bar and buffet area to make room for a big group that had just arrived, noty to mention the three trips back to the front desk to get a key card that worked for my room, then had to wiggle and jiggle the handle to get the door to open. Then tried to get beach towels 5 different times in a day and was told sorry we do not have any more. The Food was sub par, drinks were all well booze, room was cleaned but outdated. The time we did get into a resteraurnt there were cat's roaming around under the table, i witnessed two jump on top of a table and then two others started to fight, The menu's were not all inclusive you had an option A or option B not one of anything you wanted, The best part of the resort was the white sand beach and killer ocean water, I would not stay or recommend this to any travelers,

  We are on our way back again!

  We are coming back again (15th time) (our 39th wedding anniversary this time) This resort gives you the best bang for your dollar.#1 the staff #2 the beach #3 location from the airport and the short flight time approximately 3 hours #4 the weather. We will arriving on Saturday June 20-27.A big shout out to Keva in guest service she looked after us nicely the last time we were there. See you soon. Jack and Susan Bonnettn-Ramsay

  Excellent resort!!

  We arrived around noon hour at the resort. Grabbed a bite in the buffet and a Bahama mama of course lol. Rooms not assigned until 3pm and this was perhaps the most negative thing that happened as everyone cannot return to check in until 3pm so any and all arrivals (in this case both from Toronto and Montreal) lined up at the same time. This process took 70 minutes in our case. We were in room 2222 which was dated and had sink draining issues but was comfortable and air worked so who cares? We had partial ocean-view which was nice having our coffee on the balcony in the morning. A 2 cup coffeemaker is in room and they only forgot to leave coffee one day all good. Buffet was good for breakfast lots of selection and tables available. Dinner buffet was also good with a wide enough selection for everyone's taste in my opinion. The coffee was ok in the restaurant and the main bar located outside the buffet also serves coffee iced coffees etc. so again great selection. The greeters servers et all were all friendly and available with no waiting. The pool all chairs were booked very very early in morning so we never got in to the pool. The beach is beautiful with a lot of seating and shade in the trees so you can move your chairs if you do not wish to be in the sun at any point. There are a lot of rocks when entering the ocean so bring water shoes and tread carefully lol. Once clear of the rocks water is beautiful and mostly calm. The al la cartes were good in our opinion hot fast and the presentation was very good. There was a large number of kids who showed up part way through via Miami which changed the dynamics into a louder more younger focused time everywhere and made it difficult to accommodate everyone's seating preferences for the evening time but the crowd was well behaved for their age group and the tour operators for their group were very successful in keeping them in different areas so as not to overrun one area except the bar although the regular guests had a small part of the bar in which to be served while the youth had a large part of it due to sheer numbers. This resort save for when this influx of kids happens is quiet and a great place to unwind from the daily grinds of home and the staff try their best for everyone. All tips are appreciated and we tipped every meal and at the bars. We would definitely look at this place first for our annual winter break as it was almost perfect for what we look for in a resort.

  Beautiful Beach and wonderful hot weather

  I went to the VIVA FORTUNA BEACH BY WYNDHAM with my family for the 3rd time. While the resort itself is a little dated, the beach is very beautiful, and you can take very long walks both ways. The beach entrance was much more rocky this time making it difficult to get in and out of the water, i believe the last hurricane must have eroded away some of the sand. Most of the staff were very friendly and helpful. I found the Entertainment and Activity staff specifically Sara and Simone to always be friendly and enthusiastic, trying to get everyone involved in the daytime and evening activities.
