  A great family hotel

  The hotel is a great location right on the beach, they have an adults only pool which is a nice option. The hotel is definitely themed to families with children.

  Not luxury - Great location near Waikiki beach/shopping

  This is my second and probably last visit to this hotel. Our family booked two rooms here on same floor but opposite sides on 9th floor. Linen in room is dated with holes and stains. The first evening I noticed blood stains on the sheets and requested a change the next day. I suspect the linens were not clean for check in. The bathrooms have bidets but it smells like urine and sewage. We learned to unplug that bidet which reduces the circulation of smells. This shouldn’t be happening at a “luxury hotel”. Room door in one of the rooms did not close properly requiring us to slam shut (disrupting to other guests until fixed). Both safes were not functional. The main positive is the location where it is close to shopping and food and beach. Pool towels really need to be refreshed and threads are coming off. Please wipe down pool chairs as it is dirty and stained. I was pleased to see attendants monitoring chairs that were claimed with no one coming back within an hour.

  Best in Waikiki

  The Sheraton is amazing. Rooms are immaculate and suites have amazing views. You can see the turtles from your balcony. The restaurants were incredible with the best sunset views around. Both pools are great but the infinity pool on the ocean is spectacular. Great place to use your Marriott points for a good deal and a great place to use your suite night upgrades if you happen to be part of the program.

  Skip. Better places elsewhere!

  I stayed here twice this year, once in January and again in March for a combined 8 nights. After my experience in March, I unfortunately won’t be returning. My first stay was good, which is why I was happy to come back. Sadly, the second stay was horrendous. While the view is lovely, it is simply not worth the price when you are given a filthy room. When I first noticed the condition of the room, I complained and was offered the choice of packing up and changing rooms immediately or waiting while the room was given a deep clean. As it was already late, I opted to stay and have it cleaned the following day. Unfortunately, even after the clean, the room was still dirty, so I had to waste more of my time calling again. I eventually changed rooms, but the second room wasn’t much better. There was dust, other people’s hair on the floor, generally dirty floors and shower walls, and even sticky marks on the slatted divider between the bedroom and bathroom. The bedding had holes in it. The hallways were also uncomfortably hot and humid. For the price, I expected a much higher standard of cleanliness and service. What made the experience even more disappointing was the lack of any apology or offer of compensation at checkout. Sonny seemed more interested in getting rid of me than acknowledging the issues I had experienced. Sonny was certainly no “ray of sunshine”. The view may be nice, but in my opinion it doesn’t justify the price when basic cleanliness and customer service are lacking. After two stays this year, the contrast between January and March was significant, and unfortunately my March experience has put me off returning. Waikiki as a whole seemed like a cesspit in March too. People urinating in the streets and they were just generally dirty. I’d recommend other places to vacation at before coming back here.

  Motel-like accommodations at Luxury prices

  The view from our room (Ocean Front high floor -King) was spectacular. The bell, housekeeping and security staff were fast and friendly. After that the hotel was a POOR CHOICE. The front desk staff ranged from rude to indifferent. The hotel reminded me more of Vegas than Hawaii. (A guest must run the gauntlet of a shopping mall to get to the front desk) The price was high and service and amenities very middle of the road. (Think Hampton Inn!) Nothing luxurious or high-end except the price. We are frequent visitors to Oahu but this was both our first and last time at this hotel. On a budget, try the Princess Kaiulani. Mid-price = Outrigger Waikiki Beach Resort. If looking for luxury either the Moana or if booked up then the Royal Hawaiian will do. From unappealing decor to noisy atmosphere and adequate service, this Hotel may be good for families with small children but adults should go elsewhere.
