  Great resort

  This was oue second time here and the service and food were great. They take very goos care of you and always provide top notch service. I recommend upgrading to preferred club because if nothing else to use the preferred lounge.

  Dr TAM's Double-Thirty Bday Celebration

  My birthday celebration trip from 27 May to 31 May was overall enjoyable, exhilarating, and adventurous. The premier restaurants (Himitsu, Portofino, and Seaside Grill) have the BEST vegan/vegetarian options and drinks. However, our first issue was that none of the premier restaurants take reservations, and I spoke with the Portofino concierge (his name is Bismark) on Thursday 28 May and confirmed that my dinner party of 13 would be held on Friday 29 May at 5:30pm. On Friday morning, the concierge found me at the pool and informed me that my dinner party had to be moved to Saturday due to a wedding rehearsal dinner (party of 16) that was scheduled for Friday 29 May. I found this to be deeply disturbing because the restaurant allegedly has a "no reservation" policy; however, my party of 13 was bumped to Saturday. Our second issue was that one of the members of my group experienced a plumbing problem in their room, but the resort moved them to an upgraded room immediately. I highly recommend the Bijaqua's Flavors and Waterfall excursion hosted by Amstar! We visited the local souvenir shops, helped make our own hot chocolate and coffee, visited the butterfly park, took a one mile hike and saw sloths, tomato frogs, macaws, and other tropical flowers. We stopped at the waterfall where we swam and took awesome photos! A delicious lunch was included in the price as well as round trip air conditioned van service from the resort.

  It was a good trip people were awesome. Just not what i expected for the money!

  The resort needs some updating! The first day the main pool was very dirty and there was tiles in the bottom of the pool missing. The rooms were nice but the room we were in had a lot of traffic noise from the road right below our room. The food was ok my expectations on dinning were higher then the resorts. The people and staff were great entertainment was a little week we saw the same fire show on monday and thursday. The music all day that was played at the was not my cup of tea for sure.

  Ehh! Place was beautiful though.

  There was only one day of our four-day trip that servers were serving drinks at the spa pool. That was not acceptable. We had to get up go to the bar wait in line, order then wait for drinks. Next there were 4 occasions that we had to wait for a bus for over 20 min in 90-degree temperatures. On two occasions we gave up and walked. We were soaking wet with sweat by the time we walked from the 400s to the dinner area. The worst part was the last night we did not get to eat where we wanted. At the Asian food restaurant because there was a very large group of people sat that were being very loud, screaming and being rude / cussing at the guests and wait staff. They ruined the dinner for everyone eating there that night. Literally everyone sat there with their jaws dropped in shock. A large group like that should never have been sat in a romantic couples dining environment like that. Large groups should be sat outside only. Especially a type of people known for being loud, obnoxious and rude in public. We eventually just left and went to another restaurant. The police should have been called to remove them, and they should have been kicked out of the resort immediately, not allowed to even get their items from the rooms. They should have been taken to jail or at the very least to a hotel in the city escorted by the police and their things packed up and delivered to them. Management is going to have to figure out a policy to deal with these rude, obnoxious types of people or the people that you want at the resorts will stop coming. This was unacceptable in the most extreme way. Another thing was the fly situation was out of control. Normally I would not complain about flys because I would figure there is nothing you could do about it, but I noticed at the spa area pool behind the bar large areas of trash open and hundreds of flys were drawn to this area not far from where you eat. I saw no fly traps or bait set out. Keeping these areas clean and trashed contained with bait and traps should decrease the fly population at the dining areas. oh one more thing, the jet ski and tour guys sitting right on the 50 meter mark was unacceptable. We tried having dinner one night and a jet ski guy was literally 15 feet from our table watching TikTok or something with his phone volume blaring. We had to leave the restaurant shortly after being seated.
