  Three Stars Overall. Room for improvement.

  Location - Close to the airport and Playa de Carmen. Atmosphere - Very relaxing and lush. The pool were beautiful. We really enjoyed the preferred rooftop pool at the end of the day. Rooms - We were in a preferred room in building 3 on the 7th floor. The room was very nice and the view was beautiful. Value - We paid for preferred and did not see the value in it. Preferred at previous resorts service was better. The preferred areas were not well secured so they were essentially open to all guests. Cleanliness - Housekeeping was as expected. We usually got services once a day. Evening services were not recieved. Noise Level - Our room was quiet and peaceful. Shared spaces were as expected. Some of the restaurant music was a little louder than we would have liked. Service - Buffet - Amado was amazing. We made it a point to be seated in his section everyday. Thank you. Seasoul - Great food and great service. Bisou - Best food and service overall. Food was delicious. Allora - Good Italian food. Dos Alamas - Good food. Tamale was really good. Ember - Meh. We were warned by other guests that the restaurant is smoky. We expected more steak on the menu. The brisket was really dry. Service was really lacking. Suki - One of out favorites. We were not able to get a reservation to the hibachi. There was only one table of the four eat night we were there. Observatory - Food was okay. Nothing that wowed us. Coco Cafe - Appreciated the coffee each morning. The ice cream was good. Drinks - Pool side service was ssssllllllooooowwwww. They seemed understaffed for the number of guests there. In the restaurants I tried the mocktails. They were very good and I highly recommend. Food carts - This food was good, really good. The tacos were good and so was the dessert roll ups. We really like the floating fruit service each afternoon too. Amenities - We enjoyed the spa. My husband missed having access to snorkel and scuba diving. The beach staff did help him find a dive shop to scuba out of. Pools - We liked the cove pool. Beware of the drop off. We saw the lifeguard rescue 3 people in one day. Sugar Reef was the party pool and good bar service. The beach side pool was busy and if you want a seat you need to get there between 9 and 10. Preferred roof top pool - Hot during the day. We would go up there around 4 when there was some shade and relax until dinner. Views are great and you can watch the ships leave Cozumel. Overall we enjoyed the trip and the people we met. It is not a resort we are running back to. You do not need to book preferred here. If you want something more look into Impressions but read the reviews. We heard a lot of mixed reviews from people regarding the value. Thanks you for reading and safe travels.

  Moxche - A Secrets Let Down

  Not up to previously attended Secrets standards - seems to be understaffed, and unorganized. Food and drinks were OK at best - several requests were not fulfilled - Will not be back to this location

  Beautiful Resort with Outstanding Entertainment and Spa, but Skip the Vacation Club Pressure

  I had a wonderful stay at Secrets Moxché Playa del Carmen, and overall it lived up to its reputation as a luxury, adults-only resort. The property itself is absolutely stunning. The grounds are immaculate, the pools are beautiful and plentiful, and there are so many spaces to relax that it never felt overcrowded. Every area of the resort was thoughtfully designed, creating a sophisticated yet relaxing atmosphere. The restaurants were very good, with a wide variety of cuisines to choose from. My only criticism is that not taking reservations at some of the more popular restaurants can make it difficult to dine at your preferred venue during peak times. Fortunately, there are enough quality dining options that you'll still find somewhere enjoyable every evening. The spa deserves special recognition—it was one of the highlights of my trip. The facilities, hydrotherapy circuit, and massage services were exceptional. If you're visiting Secrets Moxché, I highly recommend scheduling a spa day. It's worth every penny. Another standout was the entertainment team. They brought incredible energy throughout the day and evening without being intrusive. The nightly entertainment was professional and fun, and I was pleasantly surprised by the size and quality of the resort's nightclub, which offered a great atmosphere for guests who wanted to continue the evening after dinner. The biggest disappointment was the club sales approach. Before I even arrived, I received multiple emails encouraging me to upgrade or attend presentations from sales department. Unfortunately, the sales pressure continued once I checked in. For a resort that markets itself as a luxury escape, the persistent vacation club promotions felt out of place and detracted from what was otherwise a premium guest experience. I understand that many resorts promote memberships, but I believe the approach could be much more subtle and respectful of guests who simply want to relax. Overall, I thoroughly enjoyed my stay and would absolutely return. The beautiful property, exceptional spa, excellent entertainment, and variety of dining options far outweighed the negatives. If the resort could reduce the vacation club pressure, it would elevate an already excellent experience to an exceptional one.

  Run. This is a 5-Star Cosplay resort.

  Fellow traveler. I write this review with a bit of a broken heart because I loved my experience in Mexico previously staying at the Chable properties which I highly recommend. For context, I am not a stranger to a 5-star hotel which is why this is so shocking. Here is my factual experience. 1. As a warning for everyone looking at the website, a tropical view means a view of a construction. I upgraded to an ocean view and paid more money to do so. However, during my stay my room was never cleaned. Not once. Never. 2. Exhausted from coming in from Paris and then DC, I waited for an hour for room service. I was happy to wait but when my food arrived, it was cold/lukewarm including a glass of warmish sparkling wine. I ate out of sheer desperation, and I am confident that the food was not Chef prepared but rather frozen food, popped into a microwave that sat and served to me after. 3. I was traveling alone and yet my room was adorned with Happy Anniversary and Happy Birthday banners. At first, I thought I was given the wrong room, so I did not open the door. When I explained my frustration to the front desk agent, I was told that I would receive a bottle (never came and honestly, I did not care). Except when I complained out of desperation in writing (a theme of my stay) Beatriz Alonzo, Concierge responded in writing that the signs would be removed. It never happened. This morning, I left the hotel 3 hours early just to avoid being there and the concession never came, the signs stayed up throughout and again my room was never cleaned. 4. Upon your arrival do not expect a curated check-in experience, your luggage sits among others, you wait in a holding area that has clearly seen better days and if you decide to book a private transfer which I did because I needed the quiet expect to travel in a minivan. I was told that was a 'private car' but again I know from my other experience in Mexico that actual cars are available, and it was never explained to me that private meant a van. Some other things to know: 1. Expect cold food. I tried breakfast was the first one there and I do not even know how they did this but the food was lukewarm/cold. 2. Expect to be disregarded. I asked for grilled fish at the Bamboo restaurant. I was told I could have it and instead was served deep fried fish, drenched in a sweet tangy sauce. 3. Expect all-inclusive to only mean cocktails. Expect wine (and not even great wine) to be at surcharge that is laughable. 4. Expect your complaints to go on deaf ears. 5. Expect your room to not be cleaned. And all of this would be normal except this hotel has branded themselves as a 5-star property so I have no other conclusion than to assert to expect to be lied to from the onset. This is NOT a 5-star property with 5-star level service, food, or anything. I beg you not to stay here. Stay at a Chable hotel, a Belmond hotel but do not engage in the Cosplay that I experienced. It was not about the money. I would have gladly paid the price for the service but alas, I could not leave soon enough and I was there under 48 hours. Also... 1. Do not be fooled by the scenic and carefully taken photos of the property. You can find pretty elsewhere. D 2. I feel sad for the one close to 5-star experience within the property which is the spa. The spa is factually nice. It is in the wrong environment. This hotel does not deserve the spa. I wish a review warned me, so this is my gift to a future traveler. Avoid at all costs.

  Beautiful place for couples.

  Overall, amazing. We were disappointed with the room service food, but the restaurants were phenomenal. Very couple oriented but being there with my daughter was still really nice.
