I stayed at the Riu Hotel in Panama from April 13–16 for my birthday trip. The hotel surprised me with a birthday cake 🎂 and fruit platter, which was a very thoughtful touch and truly appreciated. The breakfast was amazing with a huge variety of food to try every morning. The location is also excellent — everything is within about a 15-minute walk, and KFC, Starbucks, and McDonald’s are only 1 minute away, which was very convenient. Unfortunately, my room had a bad smell and the air conditioning did not work well during my stay. I was told to close the drapes to make the room colder, but that did not help. Someone also came to my room to try to fix the issue, but it still never got comfortable. Because of the room condition and AC problems, I don’t think I would stay here again, even though the staff was polite and the breakfast and location were great.

Amazing resort and staff
We loved just about everything. We did know beforehand that the beach was not going to be your typical white sand and turquoise water. And the gym is a little underwhelming and outdated equipment. Also be aware that all excursions are full days events. Don’t anticipate on being back early. Also be careful on slippery tiles on the resort pathways and general public bathrooms. Other than that this place is a gem. They lay out, the staff, the restaurants and buffets all five stars. Management always seemed to be present and helping out and checking in on how your stay has been. Highly recommended resort!!!!!

Enjoyed Our Week At Playa Blanca
We just returned from Panama. We spent 1 week at the Riu Plaza Hotel in Panama City and a week at the All-Inclusive Riu Playa Blanca. We had never stayed at a Riu prior to this trip. We will look for Riu properties in the future based on this experience. This is an incredibly well-run resort. CLEAN! The rooms, the restaurants, the pools, there is always someone working to keep the place immaculate. We met the manager, Mr. Trujillo. You might bump into him at any time of the day as he tours his property. The staff was friendly and professional. An though the vibe was comfortable and relaxed, the entire resort was dependably on time. There was a lot of entertainment each day at the pools. Every evening saw a small show at 7 PM (singer, duo, or band) followed by a half hour children's show at 8. At 8:45 was a trivia contest on Kahoot. The big show of the evening was at 9 PM. There was either a Beach Party or Disco at 10 PM. This was every evening. There were lots of chairs at the 3 pools and the beach. We enjoyed the 3 dinner restaurants (steakhouse, Italian, and Asian), but chose the huge buffet several evenings due to the variety of options. I'm sure that we will visit Playa Blanca again.

Happy April Holiday
As a Diamond customer I know what to expect from RIU , whilst this not a Palace , the service was excellent , the manager Christopher Castro was superb in his attention to detail. Staff were non stop cleaning and being attentive to all our needs which was greatly received. The food was very good and the three a le carte restaurants were very efficient in their reservation turn around times which didn’t inconvenience us in the slightest. The bars were very good , selection albeit not a palace was very good and left you feeling completely relaxed. Sports bar was fine one small detail maybe cool it down a little perhaps as it never felt air conditioned but otherwise very good. Room 5th floor 5049 for us was very good , spotlessly clean every day , sea views were great and waking up in the morning to that view just added to our stay. Would i recommend this hotel ….absolutely in a heart beat , it is a jewel in the array of standard RIU hotels 👏👏👏👏👏 hats off RIU
