  No RIU for me anymore

  I won't be staying at a RIU again, Elite Club membership is worthless. Staff was inconsiderate at dinner. Sexist policies and discrimination are enough for me to never book at any RIU property again and discourage any other travelers from booking at RIU properties. I understand policy, I don't understand a lack of information and consideration for your guests. As a frequent traveler, I look forward to finding a place that has better customer care policies. The app sucks, you can't select whether you want spicy or mild wings. You can't select cheese or chicken quesadilla. You also apparently can't request spa services through the app, even though the app acts like you can. They won't respond. You are left with a pending service. It also frequently forgets what hotel you are at, while you are there. The policies for men to be able to eat dinner are inaccurate. You do not need a collar shirt, but they will reject you if you do not have full sleeves. Not even sleeveless, just short sleeve.

  Fun Time

  The Pacifico is our favorite all-inclusive. We have been coming for almost 20 years. We enjoy the staff, throughout the resort. Waitstaff, bartenders and entertainment crew were fantastic. This resort fits a lot into the space they have. Our room was on the 7th floor with a gorgeous view of the ocean. We tried the steakhouse, Italian and buffet for dinners. The sport bar, Pepes and Tiki Taco had a lot to choose for lunch. Do not overlook visiting the sports bar for food, they have a great menu and view if you sit outside. One day we participated in Meditation on the beach at 8:00 am this was very relaxing. The pool deck is very slippery, so be careful around the stairways when it's wet. Massages on the beach are another benefit of this location. Great value! We had the good fortune to witness a turtle come up on the beach to lay her eggs (93 of them)! So cool to see. We are coming back in September.

  Another day in paradise.

  Me and my wife just back from resort 2 day ago. We was very satisfied with room and rest area service. Clean and noise level around. All stuff perfect. Many guys already recognized us. Because me and my wife 2 times every 6 month, spending vacation here. Unfortunately many visitors from US was cancel reservation due previous cartel and police problem concerns. So, for that pool and beach area show many empty spots. But this is not right! Everything is calm and safety. I would like to say big thanks for bartender from pool area bars: Polo, Lalo and yang man Luis. My wife call them Sweethearts . And special thanks from front desk representative Lily and her 2nd level Alexandra. They both help us an were very pleasant. So, who planning travelling here just do it. We wish good luck for all visitors and stuff!

  Disappointing Service & Zero Attention to Special Occasions

  We stayed at the Riu Palace Pacifico in November for my husband’s birthday, and while I had mentioned ahead of time that we were celebrating a special occasion, we were given a room overlooking a construction site. On his birthday, the hotel’s “gesture” was a tiny slice of cake left in the room. Honestly, we didn’t make a big deal of the room because we spent most of our time at the pool and beach anyway, so we let it go. Because the location itself is nice, we decided to give Riu another chance and booked again for our wedding anniversary — this time reserving 6 months in advance. I specifically requested a higher-floor room and again mentioned that we were celebrating our anniversary on May 5th. When we arrived, we were told, “We can only give you the rooms we have available,” and were placed on the 4th floor facing inward toward the lobby with virtually no WiFi signal in the room. We literally could not connect to the internet from our room. In 2026, how does a resort room not even have working WiFi? Yet somehow there are upgrade options available at check-in. This visit, the service felt bare minimum at best. At breakfast, there were multiple mornings where nobody even came to ask if we wanted coffee or tea. One afternoon at lunch I asked for a glass for my drink and was handed a paper cup. At an all-inclusive resort where guests have already prepaid for food and beverages, the service felt cheap, inattentive, and inconsistent. Poolside service was extremely spotty, staff would pass by maybe once in a while, so most of the time I just got up and got drinks myself. Ironically, the best part of the trip was the massage ladies by the beach, they were warmer and more attentive than most of the hotel staff. What disappointed us most was the complete lack of acknowledgment for our anniversary. No note, no small gesture, no cake, no petals, absolutely nothing. Even during checkout, nobody asked how our stay was or whether we enjoyed our experience. The overall feeling was simply that they did not care. Unfortunately, after giving this resort a second chance, we will not be returning and would not recommend it based on the level of service we experienced

  Riu Pacifico, APril 2026

  We like to patronize different resorts on our vacations however this is the third visit to this adult only paradise. A first for us which speaks to the quality of this resort. We had another exceptional experience provided mainly through the personal efforts of an amazing staff including; Pool area: Cruz and Edgar, Dining: Maurio, Louisa, Julian, Alonso, David and for Beverage service: Cesar and Kiki. All deserve a special shout-out for constantly going far beyond expectations. As an observation. this resort when first remodeled was a flagship of the RIU chain, however is unfortunatly now starting to operate similar to other RI properties. Too bad, the other RIU properties could have learned a lot from the initial RIU Palace Pacifico model. That being said, it is still a good resort. While there are always "glitches" in any stay. For us, these were handled appropriatly and efficiently by the staff. Kudos to all. My suggestions for enhancement remain as I have previously stated: * Do not allow eating in the pools. * Enforce smoking in the smoking areas only. * Do not allow guests to play personal music without the use of headphones. *Set a minimum age for guests rather then simply state "adult" - as some guests seem to hit that mark in physical age only.
