  Beautiful Beach, Mixed Overall Experience

  This is not a 5 star resort.....be prepared to reset your expectations if that's what you're going in with. I recently stayed at Riu Antillas in Aruba, and while there were definitely some highlights, the overall experience was a bit mixed, landing around a solid 3 stars. The location is absolutely stunning. The beach is exactly what you picture for Aruba with clear turquoise water, soft white sand, and plenty of space to relax. It’s easily the best part of the resort and hard to beat. Make sure you take a walk at night - it is a serene experience. The rooms were clean and comfortable, but a standard room literally gives you the view of a rooftop - no matter how long your arms are you're not getting a pic of the beach. The hallway carpets, lighting and paint could use a refresh. Housekeeping did a good job, given that I only had my room cleaned 3 times in the 7 days - by choice. When it comes to food and drinks, options were meh and very repetitive with the quality varying each day....it is an island where everything needs to be flown in - so that's to be expected. The specialty restaurants were better than the buffet, but reservations can be competitive and really the food off resort is far better. When it came to the room service - don't even bother - the food was horrible, VERY LIMITED and took forever to get to you. Service was hit-or-miss. Some staff were incredibly friendly and attentive, while others seemed rushed or less engaged, depending on the time and area. The adults-only atmosphere is a plus if you’re looking for a no kid vibe (this is the main reason I booked here), that said it is 100% a party pool. There is entertainment and activities if you want them, but nothing overly stands out. Maybe if I had gone with others my experience would have been different. That said - I just don't think I'm an all inclusive kind of person - I no longer drink like I did in my 20s and the food is not good enough to make up for it. Overall: Riu Antillas is a good choice if you prioritize beach and location, but don’t expect a true luxury or flawless all-inclusive experience. It’s enjoyable, just with areas for significant improvement.

  49 th Anniversary get away!!

  Visited the hotel for my best friend 40th Anniversay we were so excited planed this trip for over a year 14 of us!! The customer service is horrible long wait on hold no respond to email and agents have attitude , No top shelf liquor for all the money you spending the food was ok all I ate was fruits noting was wow!! I called several time ahead of my trip requesting ocean view no one explain that ocean view sea view was the same I actually wanted a ocean front one of the managers Julie moved me to a higher floor nice room but not what I expected I will go to Aruba again but not the Rui ! On the hold we had a good time because we know how to have a good time no thanks to the hotel we couldn’t even have a welcome party sad!!

  Horrible service, hot and humid hallways, worn and smelly carpets, old and slow elevators, unpleasant front desk staff

  Greeted by an unfriendly front desk staff member. Given a room I didn’t book for, wasn’t given any information about the resort, was only told to download the app. Would not recommend staying here. Didn’t feel safe in the room, the hallway in the 5th floor was humid, smelly with worn carpet. Family member became ill due to cross contamination, they don’t even ask if you have food allergies! Don’t come here!

  Definitely return!

  I would give this place a 5 star rating, w/ the exception of 2 complaints, but if you can look past those, then yes, a 5 star!!! The only 2 complaints I have, is the check in process took way entirely too long!!! And it wasn't just for us, I noticed that for others while we waited & talked to others & everyone said the same thing. The 2nd thing was they need more outlets in the rooms. Only had 3 wall outlets w/ just 1 plug in at each outlet (1 at the table & chairs, 1 in the bathroom & the other at the wet bar-for the coffee pot). There is a plug in by the bed, but it's just 1 usb plug in. Not to add a 3rd complaint, but our group had 2 rooms(3 people in each room) & were wanting the rooms close together(at least on the same floor). The best they could do was 2 floors apart :( Wasn't a huge deal, as we wound up calling each others rooms to get with each other, but was a little upset they couldn't get us at least on the same floor. Positive stuff : HUGE SHOUTOUT to some above & beyond staff members that made the stay even better than it already was : Haydee(pool bar & supervisor), Madeline(pool bar), Luis(pool bar & supervisor) & Miquel(pool bar)(i hope i spelled everyones names right). Overly friendly & always smiling(all staff)! Even got some hugs from a couple of em. Plus an extra shoutout to Haydee for an extra surprise for us for dinner at the Steakhouse! All in all, staff was great, rooms were comfy & large, VERY clean place, nummy food, fun pool games & as soon as you stepped off property in the back, you were on the beach-major bonus right there!!! PS Side note on their beds : we asked for 2 queens & we got 2 ex long double beds. Made that work by pushing them together for myself & my husband. We had a 3rd person in our room, who slept on the pull out sofa bed. All beds were very cozy! Our group of 6 have all said we would DEFINETLY come back here!!! Great time!!
