Planet Hollywood was a great resort for our family vacation. We stayed in the Director’s Suite with Star Class and had an amazing stay. The restaurants had very good food and drinks, and the staff was always friendly and helpful. Spending time at the beach by the hotel was very relaxing, beautiful views. Before arriving, we booked our tours in advance with Gabriel from Nomad tours Costa Rica. We did the rainforest tour where we saw sloths, went snorkeling, enjoyed a fishing trip, and did the Buena Vista Mega Combo, including a beautiful waterfall with crystal clear water He is located on the beach outside the resort, and you can also find Nomad on Facebook...

Amazing luxurious fantastic
Treated soo well! Steven , our butler, was the highlight of our trip. Everything taken care of. Stayed in producer’s suite. Family of 4, kids aged 21/25. Beach is beautiful and monkeys are a treat! Pools are great and never had issues getting a covered seat. Star pool was more private, but more lively at main pool. Buffet was great, fresh fruit, smoothies good variety. East was our favorite restaurant for sushi and also did hibachi show. Steven took care of everything!! Did a fishing snorkel combo and rainforest tour. Best vacation and will definitely be back.

Great place- stayed in March of 2026. I booked a 2 bedroom Star Class Suite which was right by the Star Class Pool. Suite was massive- way bigger than I would have guessed. We really enjoyed the location of our room because it was super easy to get to and from both pools (Building 26). The resort is built into a giant hill. I work out and the hill is big. There is golf carts that take you to and from the buildings and for the most part, the wait was really minimal. Things we loved- Never had to worry about finding a chair. That was fantastic. We did a cabana for two days and it was great. I did a massage and it was fantastic at the spa. The star class breakfast at the Tex-Mex was we enjoyed. Loved the monkeys on the beach. Resort was really clean. The Entertainment team was phenomenal!!! Loved all of them. Foam pool party was a blast. Things we didn’t love- Food overall wasn’t impressive. Not bad but not fantastic and that was a bummer. Dinner reservations were hard to get even with star class. Black sand is cool but not a great beach at all. I can’t recommend that at all. Resort is relatively small and a little dated. Compared to some other similar places we have been in the last 2 years (Baha Mar in Bahamas and Beaches in Turks and Caicos) not as much to actually do on resort. Kinda a drive to whatever you do and depending on traffic can be a ways. Would definitely recommend if you are a pool family! Again entertainment team was the best I have ever seen and without them my kids would have been so bored! But the food, location and beach left a little to be desired. I think for the price though, it is a great deal. Really enjoyed staff and Costa Rica is a great place to visit!

Whole trip
Buffet was ok. Often took some time to get drinks. Last day didn’t get coffee until I was almost done with meal. Rico Felipe and Maria were very nice . The Tex Mex restaurant was terrible, salty food. The breakfast here was also not very good. I wouldn’t wast your time getting a reservation for this restaurant. All the other restaurants were excellent. I was in star class, snacks were never restocked “based on what you eat” all we ever were restocked was water . No gummies, no popcorn were ever restocked. The room attendant in our star class was nice, very helpful day 1 and 2 but after that, he was busy with others. Jonathan by the pool was excellent. If you get a cabana request him you won’t regret it. Hotel was clean, as were the pools. The location of the hotel kind of sucks as it’s very pricey to get off the property since there are no taxis or uber.

The most family friendly experience ever!
We booked a family vacation with our 3.5 y/o and other family members and couldn’t rave enough about this resort! From the hotel staff, to the amenities, and food options, we really felt like our trip was top tier on every spectrum. Ariel was our VIP host who checked in daily and took care of all our wants and needs. But what really stood out to us was how friendly, accommodating, and inviting the staff were to our daughter. They truly set a new standard for hospitality for us and our future vacations! The rooms were always clean, the location was perfect for walking right onto the black sand beach. We also went with the star class experience and felt it was worth the value, you’re in rooms closer to the pools and ocean! We will be coming back!
