  Nice hotel property, but Poorly Run & Managed (food is questionable and drinks are watered down bad)

  I've stayed at a dozen plus Park Royal hotels and this was definitely my worst stay ever. While the quality of all Park Royal hotels, all inclusive has been declining for my years, this was all time low. The food was questionable at best. We fought flies throughout every meal at every restuarant, but the Buffet was by far the worst. (it was a kids meal exclusive, mini hot-dogs, bland chile, Mystery meat tacos and way too may unsupervised children.) While the restaurants that required reservation were slightly better with the food not being just kids meal type food. The menus were less than impressive. The Italian restaurant was even worse than the buffett. The noodles were barely cooked and the sauces didnt seem to have any meat at all or any option to have any. They did have some chicken but it was about 1/4 of chicken breast cut 1/4 inch thick or about 1 chicken strip. The seafood place was the best, but it was still mostly just 5 shrimp options and one surf and turf option that was a tiny round steak and two un-pealed boiled shrimp, stacked on top of instant mashed potatoes. Oddly enough under the potatoes I found 2 tiny pieces of asparagus, it was decent but by so little and why under the potatoes? I guess it looked ok, when it came out, but was like eating a pile of food all stacked up that would be much better if they separate it as who wants brown gravy on their shrimp. But then who wants to peal two lousy shrimp that are covered in gravy? Again the also had the fly problems that were worse that outside! The Pool was very large and only about 3ft deep everywhere. It was not very clean. It seemed like the pool pumps were broken as the pool always had lots of floating debris. It was mostly hair and wood particles. All the filter baskets, seemed 1/2 full of debris but they never ran the pump during the day. When we complained they made some poor guy scoop out debris for 30 minutes every hour. This only made the pool slightly less gross. Just turn on the Pool Filter pump!!!!!

  Great vacation - Great value

  This resort was a great value for the money. Plenty of amenities. The facility is a little on the older side but it is very well maintained. There is plenty to do in the resort and being all inclusive you don't need to spend much more than for souvenirs, excursions, and tips. Any concern I had was quickly addressed with great customer service. The entire staff was incredible from Sergio at the lobby bar, to Fabiola at the dining hall to Ana from housekeeping and the many others that made our stay carefree, enjoyable, and memorable. A short taxi or bus ride will get you out to the city centers in Zihuanatejo or Ixtapa. I recommend this resort and I will return.

  Ixtapa Fam Trip

  Overall we enjoyed our stay in Ixtapa it was fun for both our kids & grown ups, Staff is amazing very attentive & friendly location is good with mostly everything within walking distance

  The beds were very hard, AC was not working properly and the room was always hot, even after being reported. The furniture was old and in bad shape that we couldn’t even open several of the drawers.

  Absolutely beautiful spot !

  What a beautiful and authentic place to visit! The views from your room are unbelievable! 99% of the guests are people from in-land Mexico and they allow day passes. The pool is very crowded and dirty/ murky even first thing in the morning, people go out and stand by the pool at 6 am waiting for a spot by the pool even before the chairs have been put out. Then they go back to bed until 11am or later and come back for the 4 chairs they put a towel or sand toy on to reserve. You’re better off getting a chair on the beach. The ocean isn’t really swimmable - dangerous with a black flag all the time. The beach is so beautiful and wonderful to walk daily. The grounds and rooms are dated but clean and well maintained, no plug ins by the bed. One by the desk and one by the sink. The staff was one of the best parts of the hotel. One waiter was helping my husband learn Spanish and he was wonderful to see daily. The omelet lady was a sweetheart. Because the hotel isn’t set up for Canadians , they 100% cater to what Mexican’s like of course! What does that mean you ask? -the minimal entertainment and pool activities we only in Spanish. -the food was mostly what locals like of course, deep fried tortillas for breakfast/ beans and chicken , very repetitive food .No bacon ( except in the omelet) no sausage, Mangos , salsa/picante or guacamole. Lobby smells like sewer close to the washroom. TV turns itself off about every five minutes. Wheelchair accessible. The wristbands have your key on them, which is really nice. Ok wifi Watery beer. No fridge in room A/C only goes to 24c not colder. The shower water will be burning hot then freezing. I wouldn’t go back to be honest mostly because of the repetitive and bland food.
