  Disappointed by the staff and lack of hot water.

  Such a disappointing vacation. At check in, it was not disclosed that there was no hot water and the staff knew this. Two of three days spent with NO hot water so the upgraded room paid for and level experience was wasted. Constant vendors on the beaches were annoying for a beach that was supposed to be more “exclusive”. Upon check in, we also were not told of the resort credit that we paid for instead one of the staff represented himself as someone who could help out stay and kept alluding to a “meeting” which of course we determined was a sales pitch and after two days of asking him to stop helping as he did not help any situation form the hot water to the reservations for the spa, in fact, messed up our spa appointment, we asked him not to contact us anymore. The assistant manager tried to be empathetic after we had to initiate and confront them about the hot water, but no compensation or consideration was made. The beach was great other than the shuttle did not come aa often as they said so walking on 90 degree humidity for 10-12 minutes was the status quo. The Riviera buffet and the restaurants were fine. Very disappointed in the integrity of the staff.

  Biggest Disappointment for the first time

  Dominican Republic. Atmosphere was fine. Rooms were not that great . The promouse a view to pool or water but they gave us the room at back of pool and there was no view of water. We went to get it fixed they completely changes their script they said they gave us room close to the pool. The way the manger Carolina was behaving as if she had strongly made her mind not to do any thing. We kept requesting and asking her that what was promises to us based on that we took the room. Her reply was just kept saying she doesn’t have any rooms available and she cannot do anything . The Food was horrible. Didnt like it.

  First time in DR

  First of all above all else I want to shout out Malange for her above and beyond customer service. We booked through Expedia for our excursions ( DON'T DO IT) and had many setbacks, BUT when it came to the resort reservation for spa, dinner, or outings Malange had us taken care of. She made our resort stay the easiest part of our trip and I cannot thank her enough for it! We had an amazing time, but things to note the beach is not as clean as the opposite side of island, but is still well maintained and has plenty of great views and covered seating. My only other less than amazing note would be for room service. Several times during our stay we didn't have enough towels put back into our room for the amount of us staying and the minibar was almost never fully stocked. That can be a small thing for some, but it would have been nice to not have to call desk for towels more than one night in a row. Restaurants were amazing 👏! With Haikkado being the most enjoyable. Jackie Chan and his clan made the night fun and amazing to watch. Lastly there is never a boring night. I think this place is perfect for its price. There was bull riding, karaoke, Michael Jackson night, zumba class in pool, merengue dance class, and even a huge inflatable play area in the pool for the kids. The service is great and courteous at the resort. There is never a push to tip, but even I encourage others to do so! But still above all again huge shoutout to Malange for making our stay at Melia unforgettable.

  I was blown away by the sheer beauty of the resort.

  The hotel is beautiful, the staff are friendly. Close to the beach, tasty food. We was all inclusive.
