Outstanding experience at the Hana Maui-Hyatt Resort. The infinity pool was exceptional. Highly recommend a ocean front view. The rooms/bathrooms were superb. The breakfast was amazing. Love our experience.

Sep 03, 2026A Lot to Be Desire
Beautiful location, but bad experience. There was construction going on outside our room. Like major construction with a backhoe that, at times, prevented us from getting into and out of the room. When we asked if we could get a different room, we got just a shrug. The concierge never picked up the phone. The resort is large, it they say there are gold carts that can bring you to your car--not much help when you cannot reach them. In room dining never picked up the phone. Have fun taking a nice long walk of you're hungry. There were air conditioners in our rooms--only one blew cold air. Amazing location! And the lady working the bar at the pool was delightful.

Didn't like the fact that there no TVs in the rooms but that was the ONLY bad thing....
We booked Hana Hyatt to break up the RTH trip over 2 days. The incredible: the property is just spectacular. The grounds were impeccable, the large pool overlooking the ocean was just amazing, the staff could not have been nicer. They have tennis and pickleball courts. We played tennis. They have bikes and other sports equipment too. The great: the room was very large and spacious. The bathroom had both a shower and bathtub. The wait staff took care of our luggage without thought. The very good: the general feel of the resort was calming. The other guests were nice and nothing seemed crowded. The restaurant food was very good but overpriced. They had nice pancakes that tasted like donuts. The not-so-good: the only bad thing was that they have a no TV policy on the resort which was not helpful with a 12 and 6 year old. I understand their thought process but you have to offer a basic TV.

Aug 28, 2026Not a tranquil retreat
We were really looking forward to a few days of quiet relaxation in Hana. We frequently stay at Hyatt hotels because they are normally clean and consistent across all brands. This hotel is the exception. The location and the views from our oceanfront bungalow were exceptional, but I have never stayed in a Hyatt with as many maintenance issues as this one. I appreciate that the room was clean, but the decor was sparse. Paint was peeling in several places. The bathroom mirrors were de silvering. This was probably due to the lack of AC in the bathroom. We could only open one of the two sets of sliding doors to the deck. The set that did open required two hands and a lot of strength to pull. The patio recliners had cushions that were puddled with water the whole time we were there. They told us to sit on a towel if we wanted to be on the porch. The sidewalks leading to the unit were badly in need of repairs. They were broken, uneven and had weeds growing between the cracks. The parking for our unit was closed so we had to park in front of the resort across Hana Hwy. It was a 10 minute walk or a 30 plus minute wait for a golf cart to help with your bags. The hot tub by the pool was broken. The sauna in the spa was broken. The people were very nice, but the service was slow. The environment was anything but peaceful. All day long there was construction noise and lawn mowers running. I understand the grass grows quickly because of all the rain, but advertising this as a place to decompress is hardly the reality. This hotel was a big miss in my opinion and greatly overpriced.

Stay in Hana, and stay at Hana-Maui.
We would strongly recommend staying in Hana at least one night (we stayed two and wish we would have done three nights in order to get a day solely for being at the resort). It allows you to break up the drive and do all the things you hoped to do without being exhausted the following day. If you do choose to stay, you can't go wrong with Hana-Maui. It was an exceptional stay: views, the pool, food, the staff, everything.
