I spent a week at Dreams Panama with friends and family. While the property is fairly old, it was well maintained, clean and inviting. The food was as expected with the breakfast buffet, lunch at the Seaside grill, dinner at Oceania and the snacks at the preferred club room as standouts. Portofino restaurant could use an over hall. The service at the resort is exceptional. The staff is friendly, professional and extremely welcoming. Standouts were Ruben and Analise at the preferred pool bar and Kevin at the preferred room. Excellent!! Overall good value for the money with opportunities to improve food options.

Our stay was terrible. The rooms were not clean very well even upon arrival. I killed a roach in my room. The wall mounted headboard was gross. The fruit at every buffett was covered in bugs every day of our stay. same for the pastries in the cafe.

May 20, 2026Moldy rooms- expensive services- expensive transportation
The resort is approximately 40 min away from the Tocumen Airport; be aware of transportation fees averaging $60-$100 per trip. Not only in the hotel, but locals overcharge tourists, uber was $30. my recommendation would be to stay in the City to explore and then head to another resort where you do not need transport. The building itself is pretty nice, nice customer service, GREAT food, rooms smell like mold, and nothing in the room worked (coffee maker, hair dryer, phone to call front desk or room service) You can't really swim- use the beach that the resort has access to, so If you are looking for turquoise water, long days at the beach this is not the place.

BEWARE before booking
BEWARE before booking Dreams Playa Bonita Panama. This resort was not represented accurately online and the experience did not match the expectations created through Hyatt’s marketing and booking photos. We booked a Deluxe Partial Ocean View room, but the actual room looked significantly different from what was advertised online. The condition and presentation felt dated and misleading compared to the promotional images used during booking. One of the biggest issues was discovering at check-in that access to the adult-only pool is restricted to Preferred Club guests only. This was never clearly disclosed during booking and materially impacted our experience because we specifically chose this resort expecting adult relaxation spaces to be included. The “cabanas” advertised online are not actual cushioned cabanas. They are pergola structures with hard wicker lounge furniture that was extremely uncomfortable and not what most travelers would expect from a premium resort experience. Another major issue was the insect problem around the property. There were significant mosquito/sand fly (“chitra”) issues outdoors, and we received extensive bites during the stay. There did not appear to be adequate pest control or spraying taking place throughout the resort. The food wasn’t good and there is no pool service. Most of the staff members were kind, but overall this property felt heavily overmarketed as luxury compared to the actual guest experience. I strongly recommend travelers do additional research and read recent reviews carefully before booking.

Beautiful Location, But Subpar Service
The experience fell short due to a repetitive breakfast buffet, an unchanging Italian menu, raw food, alcohol-free drinks, and underwhelming, unprofessional entertainment that didn't match the standards of other places
