  Crown Paradise Golden is So misleading. You would think with a name like that You would be staying in Luxury. So far from the truth! This hotel should be condemed and shut down by the City! Not one good thing to say about this place. It's terrible that you wait so long for your vacation, save up your money, and you pick the wrong place to stay. Gives PV a bad name. All should be fired at the front desk and manager. after much persistence we got our money back if we agreed not to sue. 3 different rooms and the last room was the worst. Toilet flooded the bedroom , with no AC AND MOLD all over the chair. shower head fell off. Staff(Daniel) just laughed.

  A Great Hotel in the north part of the Hotel Zone

  We spent two weeks in April 2026 at this lovely hotel. After reading reviews and joining a Golden Crown Paradise FB group, we chose this Hotel located just south of the Marina, in the northern part of the Hotel Zone. Over the past 25 years we usually stay in Old Town but decided to try this location. The beaches are far less crowded and it provided a totally different holiday than our past experiences in PV. We were fortunate to book the Honeymoon Room 1502. The room is spacious and the private patio is huge. The view is spectacular! All the staff are most helpful, polite and extremely friendly. We had no problem reserving at any of the Dinner Restaurants. There was a variety of food options that most people would enjoy. All were enjoyable with the exception of the Mexican Restaurant. The Mexican restaurant had Gigantic Industrial Fans running and with the very high ceiling and bare walls, it was difficult to hear anyone speaking. The service was extremely slow. We were seated at 8 p.m. as per our reservation and it was after 8:45 p.m. that we were served our appetizer. We brought it to the Hostess’s attention, asking why the service was so slow and frankly unacceptable. Finally at 9:10 p.m., we tried to get either the Hostess’s attention or our waiter’s attention, wanting to ask when could we expect the main course. Both were busy either servicing other guests or in the kitchen. We finally just got up and left at 9:20 p.m., and went to the Buffet. All the other restaurants were fabulous, staff was attentive and the food and drinks came to the table as you’d expect. The Buffet was good with a nice variety of different foods. The staff here were very attentive. Overall we had a lovely experience staying here. It is an older hotel and every day you could see workers maintaining the property. The only other complaint would be how extremely loud the Host at the Pool was when yelling out scores for the Volleyball Pool activity and other group pool functions. Totally unnecessary to be so loud. I would recommend he dial his microphone down a notch or two. I wouldn’t hesitate to return, staff is exceptional and we had a great holiday!

  Terrible and far from 4 star resort

  Third trip to this resort and our last,we read the bad reviews before we rebooked and figured people were being picky and we booked again because our last experiences were amazing there,well we found out it’s not amazing or even good anymore. All the bad reviews are 100% correct.The location is great, the atmosphere hit or miss mostly miss.rooms are falling apart and out dated, no lamps for lighting ,air conditioning does not work,toilets don’t flush, jacuzzi tub drains and water all backs up and floods,curtains and fans falling off the walls and ceilings,tiles missing ever where ,maids are nice but not trained on the necessities of the room such as face cloths /towels there is always something missing you need to go look for which makes it hard because they don’t speak English,ask for a coffee machine,but will not provide coffee,we had to go buy our own coffee/cream sugar, no coffee cups they will give some small paper cups at best. The do not disturb sign means nothing they walk right in the room.The noise level depends on what room your in,we switched 3 times . The tuba player on the beach needs to go.The vendor sellers are allowed up on the beach so if you wanna tan in peace stay at the far end of the pool do not go to the beach or the beach bar they are everywhere along with pan handlers looking for money , very annoying, The pool area is missing tiles and the water is murky not that clean I understand they want to make a wage but the same ones will ask you a 100 times a day.Most of the staff are nice but don’t have time for extra because of the lack of staff so they try their best with what they have to work with,we tipped very well but they can’t give you extra time. The food was good where we ate, we didn’t eat at many of the restaurants except for Salvador’s which was amazing the buffet is hit or miss if the birds would stay away they eat off the buffet which is very unsanitary.The drinks are very watered down unless you get shots. The bartenders at the beach bar were very nice but once again hard to keep up lack of staff. You have to pay for room service and you never get what you order, this place was a 4 star,it maybe a 2 star now ,mostly cater to the locals and there were so many other travellers there that felt the same way. This resort needs a major overhaul and hotel staff training,from my understanding this resort sold a few years back and no money is being put back in. So if you choose to go don’t expect much We ate off the resort quite a bit and found entertainment else where because by 7-8 pm it’s like a ghost town,not that we are late night partiers but it’s like they want everyone in their rooms by 8pm and that’s a bit early when vacationing, I would definitely recommend Chappys restaurant and bar at the Marina excellent food/drinks and service as for the resort waste your money if you want but we will never waste ours there again,we will definitely be back to PV its beautiful but the the airlines need to drop this resort off their sites and from what I understand they have been asked too many times. Don’t book here spend your money where it’s worth spending.pictures are from the honeymoon suite the most expensive suite so imagine what the rest are like

  Super fun, super relaxing, would go again!

  Gorgeous place! Gorgeous views! Great food! Wonderful drinks. Friendly staff. And the facilities were very clean! We especially enjoyed Juan Ramone the server. We asked to sit in his section each morning. And I especially enjoyed an omelette from Luis every morning, he was very sweet, and very kind. I try to make an omelette like him but I cannot recreate it. The only complaint I'd have is the amount of maintenance issues with the rooms. My original room had issues so they put me in an ocean front room. Though my room still had no bathroom door knob. But it had a spectacular view and great AC. My other family members had issues with their rooms like no AC and the other had no lock on the door. The each got new rooms too.

  2 - 3 Star Resort

  We would never return to this resort. We have stayed at other resorts in Puerto Vallarta and thought we'd try this one as it was adult only & had heard good recommendations. We were disappointed. Firstly, check in took an hour of standing in line with only one person checking people for the most part. We are seniors & therefore that wait was difficult. Our room was OK but we had booked a Deluxe ocean front, we got ocean front and pool, which is not what we paid for. We were only given one key & was told a 2nd key would cost 400 pesos. We complained the next day & were provided with a 2nd key. Our patio door didn't lock, our safe was loose in the closet & could have just been taken out. There was supposed to be a coffee pot & hair dryer in the room. It took 2 days to get the coffee pot. The bath/shower was good, with grab bars but the opening to get out was next to the toilet which was a challenge to say the least. Otherwise the room was OK & clean. It was noisy though as there was something humming all the time from the roof above & air conditioning was noisy. The buffet was not very good, pretty well the same mediocre food everyday, Waiters didn't seem to care. Also, often saw birds actually picking at the food in the buffet, which was gross. Breakfast was my best meal.. Room service was good, it was quick, only once did I phone & couldn't get anyone. Hamburger snack bar was never open on time, long line ups, one day we were lined up and she said she was going for 10 minutes, which was more like 45 minutes. Nowhere to sit apart from some very heavy bar stools. It needs some table & chairs. The restaurants were good, excellent service in them, booking could only be done on line. Food in them was hit and miss. Public washrooms badly need up grading, none were handicap friendly. Pools - the main pool was not easy for me to get out of as I have some mobility issues, the railing is not high enough. The bridge is a death trap, which many people mentioned. The hot tub pool with bar was very nice & easy to get in and out of. Once again bartenders were efficient but not friendly. The Sky 7 pool was very nice, however one of the lights in the pool was hanging down from a wire which looked very unsafe. There should be another location for towels, it is long walk to get towels, they must have one towel location for both resorts. Our favourite hang out in the late afternoon & evening was the Breeze Beach Bar. The staff were great, they served very good paninis, it was lovely sitting watching the beach activity. I can't comment on the entertainment as it didn't start until 9:00 pm, 8:00 would have been better, plus it was across the cobble road street which can be a challenge for people with mobility issues. Every other resort we've stayed in had their entertainment in the resort. Overall not great, we made the best of it. Staff not very friendly, but 5 stars to the lady at the concierge desk, she was exceptional, she was helpful, lovely, kind & friendly, they should clone her. This is a 2 - 3 star resort at best.
