Catalonia plays maroma
We have received very good service at all meals especially breakfast and dinner from our server Noe Ramirez went above and beyond on. The service at pool is great the food is yummy rooms are very clean

Perfect for healing of stress
After a very stressful and damaging year at work, I booked 2 weeks at Catalonia Maroma by myself to rest, recover and heal myself, and I couldn't have picked a better place. The serenity and peacefulness of this resort, set within nature with forestry covering most of the space with beautiful birdsong, adorable coati and other animals. There are a large number of French and Italian tourists, indeed there are staff present on site from tour companies of both these countries. So as you can imagine the food must be absolutely spot on - and it is. Every meal is gourmet quality, especially if like me you book a privilege room and get access to BLoved. The entertainment staff do an incredible job. It is no exaggeration to say when I saw the first show (Rock show) I though the hotel had brought in a professional act from outside. No, they have their own singers, choreographers and dancers and the shows are amazing. All the staff in the hotel are friendly, but in particular the dancer Meite was so friendly and welcoming, and also Oscar and Karla - but really all the entertainment staff really make an effort to make you feel good. I also got to do some Volleyball here, and this is a good resort for that. Unlike other hotels where there is one member of staff trying to get people to join in, here there are several, including staff from the Italian and French tour companies, which means even if there are only 4 guests playing, there is enough staff to make a decent game. A few other small things that make a big difference: - There is soft and gentle low tones of music coming from speakers in the forest where the main pathway goes through that is so relaxing and heavenly. - The all inclusive armband includes a small plastic tag which acts as your door key. So you can leave all your stuff in the room and go swimming without worrying about your room key. - The beach sunbeds are under palm trees with good shade cover and include easy to sleep in hammocks - There was an incident when a couple of ladies fell down (a bit too much tequila I suspect) and one of them got a cut on her nose. I got her to the reception area and first aid was quickly and professionally dispensed despite it being about midnight. Thank you so much Catalonia Maroma, you really healed me of my stresses, and I hope to see you again soon.

At the end of the day it was a good holiday, however we booked privilege and it was a waste of money. The room was maybe a 3 star room. AC’s were locked so Could turn it to whatever you wanted but it would not go below 24 degrees. The good thing was access to Beloved restaurant but even that wasn’t great as they never changed the menu so same everyday. The general staff were amazing but the CS staff didn’t listen and did not help just tried push a free massage, which we didn’t want. Our fire alarm went off continually one night from midnight to 4 am before anyone showed up to fix it. Privilege also did not get top shelf drinks or any other privileges. So it was a waste of money.
