May 21, 2026Left two days early. Never done that before.
We left two days early. First time in my life I've done that. The allergy situation alone was enough to ruin the trip. My allergies were noted at check-in, confirmed again with the host at every restaurant, confirmed again with the server at the table. And yet, I was still served my allergens every single time, across every venue. Bites, Fish Nets, room service. It never stopped. On top of that, a male housekeeper walked into our room without knocking. When we brought it to manager Javier Gomez, he wouldn't apologize or even acknowledge it happened — just said he'd "review the tape and the protocol." That was the end of our stay. The food was poor (rubbery, overcooked), the layout forces you to walk on a public street between buildings and get harassed, and the location puts you front row to boats full of screaming drunk people until late at night (can't be helped, except you can choose somewhere else to stay, as we did). The "luxury" touches are window dressing. We've had genuinely excellent experiences at other Hyatt all-inclusives. This is not one of them.

Update: After sharing these concerns with UVC/Hyatt, they responded professionally and acknowledged the impact the experience had on our vacation. They advised that no further compensation would be offered beyond $150 USD in Leisure Cash for a future stay. While I appreciate the response, the offer does not change my overall view of the experience, particularly given the time lost, dining concerns, and construction disruption described above.

A beautiful wedding with great service - see Edgar
This resort hosted my wedding which was perfect. My husband had a lot of allergies and we were very worried but this resort went above and beyond to make sure he was well taken care of. Edgar at the Bites restaurant also worked our wedding and was phenomenal. My drink was never empty and he had my husbands allergies memorized. Such a friendly face made everything even better.
