My kids and I spent 3 nights here as a rest before meeting our tour group to go on an adventure. When I was researching the hotel it was difficult to find reviews as I think a lot are not accurate. We came with mixed emotions and I almost cancelled. I am so happy I didn’t. This place is so lovely. The hotel is a little old and dated but very clean. The pool was beautiful and the food was delicious. The upgrade to premium I highly recommend as there is a little lounge with snacks and drinks even some wine open until 10 pm. The buffet was included for breakfast and had lots of selection. We are leaving this morning and the kids said they are sad to go. There was also somewhere a mention in f security issues in the rooms but at night there is an extra bolt to lock the door so we felt super safe and secure at all times

Super nice hotel!
We had a wonderful stay at this hotel. The service was excellent from start to finish, and the staff were incredibly friendly, welcoming, and attentive. The pool area was very nice and relaxing, and we really appreciated having access to the gym, spa, and sauna facilities. Everything was clean and well maintained. We would definitely stay here again and highly recommend it!

One of the best hotels in San Jose
The room was clean and comfortable. The staff was friendly I enjoyed using the swimming pool and gym. Breakfast buffet was very good and the premium lounge was an added bonus. Overall I enjoyed my time at Hotel Barcelo and I will definitely return the next time I visit San Jose.

Staff were lovely but reception felt a little short-staffed. Long lines every afternoon. Hotel facilities were excellent. Love the steam room and jacuzzi. Rooms were very clean and well equipped though the shower leaked quite a bit. Ranchero Grill is a must for afternoon lunch and Bosque Bar is a must for a good time on a Saturday. Wish the hotel gave us airport shuttle & tour info beforehand but it worked out in the end.

I enjoyed my stay and would definitely come back. I enjoyed their gift shops and restaurants. Bring your own face towels/ wash clothes.
