Prices are reasonable and very affordable.,services are good but not exceptional. They lack fresh seafood, specifically fresh fish other than talapia. Stay in Palace vs other hotels in this multiple Barcelo hotel, and always use premium level. Otherwise you would not have access to all amenities. Staff is very attentive and always ready to help.

Family vacation
this was our third time at this complex and each time we explore and do different things within the complex. And each time we love it. While the complex is quite large it is relatively easy to get to everything. Beach is beautiful - love that there are sandy parts as well as great parts to snorkel and that you can easily swim with sea turtles off the palace beach. All staff are wonderful and attentive. Lots of entertainment. Gym facilities are great and the tennis courts and paddle ball courts are great to use. It is safe as our teenage children independently explored and loved the mall area and teen area in the evenings A wonderful relaxing holiday for our family! Would come back again!

Great resort with a few hiccups. They need an APP, takes notes from moon palace which the app makes everything easier. Drinks were watered down. The beach and pool were great, the a la cart restaurants were good. The buffet gets redundant. Need more food themes at the different buffets instead of the same food Just in different locations.

A Wonderful Stay at the Colonial , So Much Has Improved!
We stayed at the Colonial from August 7th to 16th, and this was my second time visiting. I have to say, I was genuinely impressed by how much the resort has improved since my last stay. One of the biggest positives for me was seeing that the dolphin attraction has been shut down. It was something that bothered me during my previous visit, so seeing that change was a huge improvement. The service throughout the resort has also improved tremendously. Every staff member we encountered was friendly, helpful, and welcoming. English isn't the first language for many of the staff, but they work incredibly hard to communicate and make sure you have what you need. We used a translation app when necessary, and honestly, it made things very easy. Don't let the language difference discourage you from staying here. The groundskeeping team deserves a special mention. These people work incredibly hard to keep the resort looking beautiful, whether it's sunny, raining, or anything in between. The pools were clean and well maintained, and the staff were constantly working to collect seaweed along the beach and keep the area looking nice. Our housekeeping attendant, Anna-Nancy (I apologize if I haven't spelled her name correctly!), was wonderful. She was so accommodating and understanding when we wanted a little extra time in the room and always worked around our schedule. Her attention and flexibility were very much appreciated. The Nightly Shows Were Incredible! One of the biggest highlights of our stay was the evening entertainment. We didn't miss a single show! We actually changed our dinner plans more than once just to make sure we wouldn't miss the performances. The productions were extremely well choreographed, energetic, and entertaining. The talent on that stage was seriously impressive. Some of the actors and actresses were so good that I honestly thought they could be performing on Broadway. It was that good! I also happened to witness the children's evening activities at the theater. Although I didn't have a child with me, I was really impressed by how the staff interacted with the kids. They had games, prizes, and activities, and what stood out to me most was how respectfully the staff treated every child. Whether a child was behaving perfectly or having a difficult moment, the staff remained patient, kind, and respectful. That deserves an A++ in my book. It's clear that the entertainment team puts a lot of effort into making the evenings enjoyable for everyone, from adults to children. The food was also excellent during our stay. We had no issues whatsoever, and it was obvious that cleanliness is taken seriously. Staff were constantly cleaning and maintaining the restaurants and common areas, which was really reassuring to see. And if you're considering staying here, do yourself a favor and go diving with Dressel. The dive team was fantastic, and the diving was definitely one of the highlights of our trip. Overall, this is not a resort where you should come expecting everything to happen at lightning speed. It's a place to slow down, relax, and enjoy yourself. Take your time, appreciate the beautiful grounds, enjoy the pools and ocean, watch the shows, and let the staff do their thing. After seeing the improvements since my first visit, I'm very happy we came back. There is clearly a lot of hard work happening behind the scenes, and it shows. Thank you to all the staff at the Colonial for making our August 7–16 stay such a great one. We truly appreciated everything you do!
