  Travel agent of 20 years !!

  Well what a trip !! After getting an email from TUI stating building work I was a little worried !! But my best friend has been to this hotel about 6 months ago and said it’s that big don’t worry !! Flight superb extra space seats well worth it !! Arrived and is was hot hot hot 🌞🌞🌞 Transfer was about 30 mins !! Check in was fantastic service fantastic they upgraded our room we was in 1203 about 30 steps to beach and main pool bar !!! So you get on golf carts around the complex very frequent see train stop map, From maids/groundsmen / security / golf cart drivers / barmen / tractor guys on the beach clearing seaweed / lifeguards / guest services / waiters / waitresses / entertainment staff / I could not find fault !! Happy / polite very smart at all times !! Few people who stood out for me who went above and behond !! Manuela guest services Jose Tui rep Manuel reception bar Juan pool bar Wilson food truck Fantastic service thank you 😘 6 complexes in 1 Explore/Esmeralda/Legend/Ambar/ Aquamarine/ Turquesa we had 3 speciality restaurants to choose from we had Flame the steakhouse /the Greek/Nomad all superb !! Margarita bar on the front was fab beautiful beach / sea and drink 😍 We had the most amazing time .. if I had 3 negatives this would be .. Main pool - playing 3 different types of music ( kids pool / swim up bar / main pool just a bit toooo much very loud and didn’t know what to listen too !! Reception toilets too hot needs air con and quite a lot of mosquitos in each toilet 😳😳 Would have been nice to have a little more English music .. there was a lot of Spanish / Colombians / Puerto Ricans only a couple of Americans .. only spoke to 2 other British people the whole week .. But overall this holiday was absolutly amazing !! Defo need high factor at least a 30 !! And book the buggy trip/Rave in a cave with Jose probably one of the best trips me and my husband have ever done !!! Thank you Bahia Principe for an amazing holiday !! I’ve always said tho a holiday is what you make it !!! Enjoy go book it 😍

  Was not sure if I was going to leave a review, but why not? We’ve been going to Punta Cana for over 20 years and this is by far the worst hotel we’ve ever stayed at. It started off by getting dropped off at the legend resort and then we were taken over on a trolly cart to the lobby of the Explore. When we arrived at the lobby, it was complete chaos. It is the smallest lobby I’ve ever seen. There was no coordination. We had had along day and there wasn’t even a welcome drink or any smiling faces. The hotel was bought by Hyatt and we heard later that a lot of the were upset so this all makes sense. We were given a swim out room and once we got there realized that the pool was facing a wall and on the other side ofthe wall was the major street inside the resort after complaining we removed to the other side of the building, which was still not the best, but it was better than the other room. The food was very salty. There was always the same food the restaurants were OK. The were not manicured. The General pool was gross. Check out my pictures. There was an apple core and drink accoutrements there for the whole week that were never cleaned. They had a party and the glasses and bottles were on the bar in the morning. The carpet was still dirty at 6am!! Just the whole vibe of the place was off. I would never recommend it. I told my Travel Agent don’t recommend it to anyone. Service was nonexistent even when you tipped them they didn’t even look at you like it was a big deal. It is a big deal. 8it was an $6800 vacation that was not worth $3500. If you wanna go to a great hotel go to the Catalonia. We should’ve went back for the fourth time stay away from this place. What a bust.

  Poor experience

  From the start of our trip, this resort was horrible. We booked our trip through Booking.com in March and paid it in full. Not sure who is to blame here; but when we got to the resort they did not have our reservation. We stood in the lobby after our long travel day for over 2hours. We are lucky to have met up with another couple that speaks Spanish because the resort staff refused to speak with us. It’s as if they got annoyed trying to speak in our language. After 2hrs of going back and forth with them, we ended up having to pay for our entire stay again. We used our credit card. The staff then tried to say because it shows as pending on our side, it’s not actually paid for. Our friends spoke to them in Spanish and we finally got a key to our room. Once we got to our room, the key didn’t even work. The rooms are outdated and not very clean. Our bedding and towels had stains on them. The AC/fan only run when you are in the room—it’s on a motion sensor—so the room is always a bit warm. I have never interacted with such rude resort staff. No one was friendly. Everyone seemed irritated when asked a simple question. The food is honestly horrible. You will wait at the your table for 20+ minutes for a drink. The beach is full of seaweed and vendors trying to sell you stuff. The mini golf is on a concrete so it’s impossible to actually play. Everything is outrageously priced. If you run out of sunscreen or aloe be prepared to shell out $40. We will never return to Bahía Príncipe resort again. Spend your money elsewhere for a nicer resort with friendlier staff.

  Not the same Bahia as in past years.

  The service is not what it use to be. I've been to the Bahia Principe 6 times and honestly this time the staff are not friendly. The maids are only interested in tips and not pay attention to detail like making sure that she replaced the towels with fresh ones. 2 times I was left with no towels what so ever. Not even a face cloth was left in the room. Lucky for me i had taken 2 of my personal towels with me on this trip. The pop machines were always out of service at the last olas buffet. There always huge lineups at the pool bar and found that if you speak Spanish your chances are better to get served versus an English speaking individual. The pools were not cleaned daily. A few times I found plastic cups at bottom of pool .Renovations are being done on the bavaro side but perhaps they should try to reduce the number of people as its very crowded instead of renovating to bring more people. Will not be going back to this resort. Buffet at lobby very repetitive.
