  A disappointed vacation 🙂‍↕️😞

  I been there so many times, but this time it was very disappointing Food and drinks quality not good Entertainment very basic.

  Not Worth Anymore

  I have been coming to Bahia Principe Grand Coba almost every year since 2017 (except during COVID), and unfortunately my experience has continued to decline year after year. I am also a Privilege Club member, and based on my personal experience, I highly discourage anyone from purchasing this membership. During the sales process, they make many promises and treat you exceptionally well to convince you to buy. However, once you become a member, you are mostly left on your own. I paid close to $13,000 for this membership and honestly feel there has been very little value in return. What made this experience even more disappointing was the extremely poor customer service from the Privilege Club representatives when calling their 800 number. Instead of helping loyal members, some representatives were rude, dismissive, unwilling to listen, and lacked professionalism. When I requested to speak with a manager regarding my concerns, I was refused. That is not how long-term loyal customers should be treated. The resort itself has also seen noticeable declines over the years: Food quality has significantly decreased compared to previous visits. Some rooms are outdated and in need of renovation. Large portions of the beach are inaccessible because of seaweed, and the areas that are accessible are very rocky. That said, I want to be fair and recognize the incredible local staff in Cancun. The employees working directly at the resort are truly amazing. They are friendly, hardworking, always smiling, and consistently go above and beyond to provide the best service possible. The staff is honestly one of the few reasons many guests continue returning. Unfortunately, my latest experience was the final straw. While trying to book what would have been my 8th family vacation to Bahia Coba, I had an extremely frustrating interaction with a representative named Raynnell from the payment department. The way the situation was handled left me deeply disappointed and frustrated as a loyal customer. After nearly eight years of loyalty and bringing my family of four to this resort repeatedly, I ultimately decided to cancel my vacation and book with another resort instead. I am sharing this review because future travelers deserve transparency before making an expensive commitment like the Privilege membership.

  Great hotel, badly run

  OK. An honest review ! This hotel has just been renovated and is lovely ! The staff are courteous and work very hard indeed ! The grounds are first class , room is very nice and we were lucky to have a pool view which was great ! Ala Carts all lovely and we enjoyed them all however book them before you travel on the app or face eating at 9pm if at all !! Shuttles to the Coba beach area are easy to just grab one at the lobby and always a sunbed at the beach and a beach bar to boot ! The Coba section of the beach is very nice though we didn’t spend much time there as it’s not the best beach with the seaweed issue but we expected that and hey ho it’s not the Maldives! Still nicer than Blackpool lol and it’s still the Caribbean sea after all ! HOWEVER there is a major problem here … understaffed , weekends are terrible, the local folk arrive in big numbers and the staff can’t cope due to lack of resources, half the buffet/ dinner restaurant is closed off meaning queues of unhappy people trying to get in waiting in blistering heat outside … shambles , and the bars are the same , big queues all day . I understand Hyatt have taken over and they must have reduced the staff to save money which is poor management! People are getting irritated and tempers getting raised . Staff are running round like lunatics and the animation team singing and dancing when really they could help a bit , i felt like mucking in ! So would i come again, sorry no , not until the management get a grip and do their job !

  Family vacation

  1st time in Mexico. We love Cuba and tend to travel there and been to DR as well. I was really impressed by how nice and hospitable the staff were. This property is kept very clean. Rooms were clean. Always lots to eat at buffet with lots of variety. Drinks were good, cold and plentiful. Beach was ok but we only spent an afternoon there. We travelled as a family of 4 with young kids. It really exceeded my expectations. We found this to be a very good value for the price. Would go back.

  14th visit- will return

  This was our 14th visit at Coba and although the loyalty program ended we decided to give it another try and we’re not disappointed. The staff are amazing and make the experience wonderful. The rooms were clean and the food excellent. For à la cartes we went to Portofino and it was delicious, Gourmet as great as last time. First time at the new Smoked restaurant and it was definately worth the visit. The entertainment team at the pool is as fantastic as ever. Special shout out to Antonio and Ronaldo. These two make you feel special, and wouldn’t have been the same without them. Alfredo at the night buffet is the best, he has actually been serving us all 14 years. If you go ask for his section; you won’t be disappointed . We will for sure return next year. We make sure we provided this feedback to Alejandro, a manager there who cares about what we had to say.
