It’s a Gem just 20 min drive from Cancun airport. You can’t find a resort with this price and service in that area. If you’re looking for a mid size resort with excellent food go for it. I booked from their official website that saved me $100 per night compared to anywhere else. There is no booking needed for La Carte restaurants which is a wow. We’ve tried Italian restaurant and David our waiter was amazing guy. We also tried Caribbean restaurant which was good. the buffet had good variety of food with high quality. It’s a bargain. But if you’re looking for a nice beach I won’t recommend this resort.

Riviera Cancun Holiday
We thoroughly enjoyed our 8 days at the newest Iberostar in Mexico. It is a short ride from the airport, so ready to start the vacation right away! Shout out to the staff at the Prestige pool - Mauricio, Jose and others; Araceli in the Prestige Club. We enjoyed all the restaurants with attentive service. We weren't rushed so enjoy our meal. Liked that the restaurants did not have a buffet appetizers, but ordered off the menu. Enjoyed the pizzas too! We knew going that there would be no beach, but didn't miss it, enjoyed the member's pool. Rooms were spacious, and enjoyed the swim out location with hot tub - nice watching a starry sky at night. All in we would visit again!

It was an ok hotel with good points and bad points. Good- - swim up room - staff (especially Eric Cortez from the excursion desk) - wildlife - weather - cleanliness - comfort Bad - timeshare/pyramid scheme hard sell - ridiculous and felt ambushed - rooms could be set out better - food was bland and often got wrong dishes served. - no beach to speak of

Second home / second stay. We booked our second stay even before we checked out from our first.
In January my husband and I made our first visit to the Iberostar Cancún Riviera and we absolutely couldn’t wait to come back, therefore we booked a return trip even before we checked out. And boy, are we glad we did! So many improvements in such a short time. Not that there were many downsides to the resort to begin with but with the opening of any new resort, there has to be a learning curve. So, now for the improvements from good to great - first off - the beach. Now obviously- a beach can’t be built in a day but there’s little doubt that Iberostar is taking the lead of that particular section of beach to trap the sand and clean up the seaweed. We also experienced faster service at the specialty restaurants as well as a wider selection on the menus. Finally, we noticed an increased confidence if not commitment from the staff as they adjust to being Iberostar employees which is a whole other level than at other resorts. Needless to say, our second stay was perfection and we can hardly wait to return. Big thanks to all our friends at Riviera but most especially to the Star Prestige team, Elizabeth, Michelle, Ivan, Rosalino, and Ramon. Also our friends with The Club, namely Cecily, Egor, Syra, and Vicki as well as resort managers, Dennis and Elena. Last but definitely not least we send a giant gracias to special friends, Guadalupe and Ana in housekeeping, Prestige Pool Concierges Sergio and Mauricio, as well as the bartenders Jose and Raul. Needless to say, we highly recommend the Riviera to those that have not yet visited and we send our sincere thanks to all those special people that made our vacation so perfect.
